My brief was to design and make a multi-functional folio that would hold an iPad, a phone and also A4 writing pad.
It was for use in presentations, but i also made it useful for desktop use by creating a support to angle it for easier viewing.
The case is made from veg-tan leather, and the lining and cover is a paprika coloured suede. The fastening toggles are also made from leather and burnished to a wood-like shine.
These straps are used to hold the cover in place when rolled up, so it can be used to support the case in "desktop mode".
It was specifically made to hold the iPad 2. I hop the client doesn't upgrade any time soon, as i would need to re-make the case to fit a different model!
Here the rolled cover is showing the viewing angle.
The lower corner was a great place for the logo to go.
Brass poppers hold the straps in place. There is also a business card holder just beneath the rolled cover.
The thong and toggle mechanism provides a secure and adjustable way to close the case, whilst retaining a unique style.
My clients initials, hand-carved and embossed.
The layout of the case was specifically designed with a left handed client in mind...right down t the pen holder being on the left side.
